Reynolds Polymer Technology has a reputation for excellence in architectural and construction circles for its monolithic viewing panels, which are used in aquaria, zoos, research centres and hotel and leisure facilities around the world. At the DomAquaree hotel and leisure complex in Berlin, Germany, architects visualised a dramatic centrepiece for the lobby in the form of a unique, cylindrical aquarium. Design and structural engineering as well as acrylic consistency and performance to precise specification were critical.

Lucite International’s team supported the customer throughout to ensure that materials met all their requirements. The result; a spectacular aquarium suspended 8 metres from the ground containing a natural living seascape, colourful living corals and 2,500 fish swimming in 1 million litres of salt water.
